Meta Rewrite
Rewrites a page's meta title and description for CTR on a specified target query — producing three variants of each with distinct angles.
Entry verified April 21, 2026
The short answer
Meta titles and descriptions decay. What won in 2023 loses in 2026 as SERP patterns and query intent shift. This skill takes the current meta plus the target keyword and page purpose, then proposes three title variants (60 characters max) and three description variants (155 characters max) against current SERP patterns.
When to use it
Every six months on top-traffic pages. Immediately after a ranking drop. When GSC shows CTR below 2% for a page ranked in positions 3-10.
Setup
- 1
Save the file as ~/.claude/commands/meta-rewrite.md.
- 2
Feed: the target keyword, the page's purpose, and the current meta title + description.
- 3
Skill returns three variants of each with a one-line rationale per variant.
- 4
CTR uplift is only verifiable with real data — ship a variant, measure in GSC, iterate.
Example
You: /meta-rewrite for /claude-code-mcp-stack, target 'claude code mcp servers'. Claude: 3 title variants (60 chars max), 3 description variants (155 chars max), each with a distinct angle.
